Cardiovascular Risk Assessment with CIMT Technology
CIMT (Carotid Intima-Media Thickness) is a non-invasive test that measures the thickness of the inner layers of the carotid arteries—major blood vessels that supply blood to the brain. This test helps detect early plaque buildup and arterial narrowing, even before any symptoms appear.
An increased thickness of the arterial wall may indicate a higher risk of developing serious conditions such as coronary artery disease, stroke, paralysis, or other cardiovascular disorders.
Who Should Consider CIMT Screening?

Individuals who are overweight or obese

Those with high cholesterol levels, especially elevated LDL ("bad" cholesterol)

People with insulin resistance or diabetes

Individuals with metabolic disorders

Adults over the age of 35 with a family history of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, or paralysis

📝 How to prepare for CIMT
- No need to fast before the test.
- You should wear a wide-necked shirt or a shirt that can be easily opened at the neck to make it easy to examine the neck area.
- Bring other health check results, if any (such as cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.)
- If you have a chronic disease or are taking medication, you should inform your doctor before the test.
- The examination takes approximately 15–30 minutes.
